Job Description – Due Diligence Compliance Manager (posted 11/15/15)

Global Financial Review is a leader in loan due diligence services. Global is currently seeking an experienced Compliance Manager with thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements applicable to mortgage lending, servicing, procedures, and other mortgage related laws and regulations.

 Job Responsibilities

This position requires strong knowledge of new mortgage rules including CFPB and Dodd-Frank Act, as well as strong knowledge of federal and state mortgage loan compliance statutes including RESPA, Reg Z, HOEPA, MDIA, and HPML. Additional knowledge in commercial lending and consumer lending, specifically student loans, is also preferred but not required.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to): 

  1. Validating compliance findings and prepare final client-facing reports in accordance with the company’s due diligence policies and procedures, secondary mortgage market and/or investor requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Utilizing expertise to field questions from reviewers on escalated loan files.
  3. Where necessary, Interaction with clients on compliance results
  4. Track changes in federal and state laws and regulations, establish applicable due diligence policies and procedures and implement changes to existing procedures, systems and process documentation.
  5. Interface with management and other team members to advise of new and changing regulatory risks.
  6. Provide advice on all consumer state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to: The Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (including FACT Act), Fair Housing Act, HMDA, Advertising Regulations (state and federal), FHA, HUD, VA and other agency guidelines and regulations, and FinCEN AML/BSA Regulations for SAR reporting requirements.
  7. Work closely with other business units and legal to implement any required changes of law related to due diligence processes including definition of Qualified Mortgage, TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, into existing and new proprietary systems and software.
  8. Draft advisory compliance memoranda, bulletins, training materials, policies and procedures covering new and existing laws and regulations affecting the company and maintains accessible records of such materials.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited four-year college or university and three or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 but prefer 5 plus years of mortgage loan compliance related experience.
  • Additional knowledge in commercial lending and consumer lending, specifically student loans, is also preferred but not required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an outgoing, friendly personality.   • Ability to work well with people and to create a self-motivating work environment.

LOAN UNDERWRITER/DUE DILIGENCE REVIEWER (posted 06/2015)

Global Financial Review, a leader in residential mortgage due diligence services, currently has 1099 Contractor positions available. Experienced candidates should submit a resume of qualifications to be considered.

Under limited supervision from Client Services Manager, this position is responsible for re-underwriting and auditing post-closed loans, in accordance with the company’s due diligence policies and procedures, secondary mortgage market and/or investor requirements and applicable laws.

 Primary responsibility of the Loan Underwriter is to review post-closed loans to ensure that the original underwriting and loan approvals met with applicable underwriting guidelines. This position requires strong knowledge of mortgage market underwriting, pricing, operations and requirements as well as all consumer lending regulations for GSE as well as non-conforming, subprime and Alt A/B/C type loans.

  1. Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to ensure borrower met qualification guidelines.
  2. Analyze copies of loan documentation, personal and business financial statements, and any other financial information as needed to support loan decisions.
  3. Review file documentation to fully understand the reasons for an approval, denial, counter offer or pricing decisions.
  4. Review sufficiency of borrower and loan documentation and note or comment on inadequate or missing documentation.
  5. Review the TIL and other legal disclosure documents for sufficiency and accuracy
  6. Analyze loan appraisals and property valuation reports and note or comment as needed.
  7. Review all closing documentation and title related reports and note or comment on inadequate or missing documentation.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and security of applicant/borrower information and data at all times.
  9. Verify data and comment or report findings as required.
  10. Performs such other duties and accountabilities as management may from time to time assign.
